How does Revlon describe this product?
“Break free of dull, muted shades and lace your lips in high-definition colour with NEW Revlon Ultra HD™ Lipstick. This advanced new lipstick formulated with Revlon’s wax-free high-definition gel technology allows for true colour clarity in one smooth coat. The secret is in the clear gel base that provides a weightless feel with a smoother, more even application than traditional wax-based lipsticks. Just one coat of the deliciously scented, silky, moisturising formula and lips are instantly enriched in weightless colour.”
Revlon has had a string of hits in their recent lip colour launches. The Colorburst Lacquer, Stain and Matte Balms have been snapped up by beauty lovers all over the world. With a fantastic colour range, a smooth formula and a finish for every taste, it’s unsurprising that they became the go-to brand for affordable, high-street lip products in 2014. The question now is whether or not they can keep their crown.
The Ultra HD Lipsticks are one of the latest offerings from this powerhouse company. They come in at £7.99 each and the UK currently has 14 shades available. The description above isn’t totally unfair. There are plenty of great aspects to these lipsticks but sadly they suffer from some noticeable drawbacks. Read on for details, swatches and grades.
